I pulled over to the side of the road to get some photos of the plantations. We walked down a path running alongside a dirty irrigation ditch and I paused to snap some shots. Bau stood behind me, his hands resting on top of his rifle. Sweat glistened on his arms and his cheeks. I raised my camera and pressed the shutter.
